Francisco Segarra’s new season gets off to a flying start, offering the finest contract interior design concepts for the coming months. Two generations, two perspectives, two ways of understanding design… On this occasion, it is a rich universe of contrasts that takes shape in a space where materials, textures and styles coexist.
The setting we present below is designed to explore new dualities and discover how the combination of seemingly opposing elements can create interiors with a unique identity.
Contract interior design where colour and material merge.
The setting is built around a palette of deep, warm tones. Wood takes centre stage, cladding the walls and creating an enveloping atmosphere that contrasts with the dark blue of the floor. A understated and sophisticated colour scheme that establishes the character of the room from the very first moment.
Against this backdrop, different textures emerge to enrich the scene. The wood grain interacts with the aged leather of the seats, whilst metal introduces a more industrial and contemporary touch. Opposite them, polypropylene brings a sense of lightness and an unexpected element – perhaps the most contemporary of all.
The composition is rounded off with details that speak of the passage of time: antique mirrors resting on the floor, decorative objects, books, vintage pieces and everyday items. It is a lived-in space where every element seems to have a story to tell and where the new blends naturally with pieces from other eras.
The result is an aesthetic that defies labels. Here, categories lose their importance, giving way to a much freer and more open approach to contract interior design.
From pieces of yesterday to designs of today…
The furniture plays an essential role in shaping this space. Each piece brings its own distinct personality whilst contributing to the interplay of contrasts that defines the entire design concept.
- Tiano Sofa: upholstered in leather, it lends the room a striking and timeless presence. Its warm appearance complements the woodwork in the room and reinforces that sense of a lived-in yet sophisticated interior.
- Tiano Armchair: sharing the character of the sofa, but on a more intimate and cosy scale. It embodies comfort and invites you to pause and enjoy the space.
- Adina Sideboard: crafted from wood, it blends naturally into the room’s décor and provides visual continuity. Its presence enhances the warmth of the ensemble and serves as a display unit for objects that tell part of the room’s story.
- Estelia Trolley: made from polypropylene, it represents the lightest and most contemporary counterpoint in the collection. Its synthetic material contrasts with the warmth and demonstrates, once again, that opposites can coexist naturally.
- Antique mirrors: resting directly on the floor, they add depth and a more nostalgic dimension to the composition. Their shapes and finishes introduce the passage of time as yet another element within this dialogue between eras.
Decorating isn’t about choosing between one thing or another, but about discovering what happens when both can coexist. The old need not clash with the new, and two generations can share the same perspective. Perhaps that is the essence of this very special space.
