That’s what happened to Fabrice Penot, a Parisiene to whom the memory of his own childhood under the shade of a fig tree led him to devote himself body and soul to perfume industry. The fresh and intense aroma of figs created a feeling of peace and quiet that nowadays is a clear reflection of his wise decision.

Fabrice Penot and Edouard Roschi, friends and workmates sharing the same passion, founded Le Labo Fragances in 2006, a perfume brand whose essence is always driven by the handcraft and the naturalness.

A store, a fragrance, an interior design.

With more than 50 boutiques all over the world, the store interior design enjoys a dose of Wabi-Sabi and a deep love for the natural. It refuses all artifice and looks for the purest form of the materials.

New York, Toronto, London, Paris… every store is a source of inspiration to create an exclusive perfume and its own space, as an homage and a gesture of gratitude to every city.

Since they opened their first store at Nolita neighbourhood, New York, the commercial interior design chosen is nourished by shabby textures and wonderful metal lamps; and it is completed with exposed concrete or aged wooden floorings.

These are spaces celebrating the impermanence of things and the beauty in imperfection. Places where everything seems to be there by chance, but surprisingly it is perfectly balanced and has a meaning and a natural beauty.

Industrial pieces of furniture bring a rough breath which is compensated with a delicate and intimate mini lab that is witness of the magic when creating the fragrances.

As the firm’s manifesto states, their perfumes and the place where they are made create a shock that combines the new with the intimately familiar. A sensation of wanting to learn more…

Peeling walls, wooden beams, aging finishes… We are inspired by uneven shapes and by marks that time has left. We get captivated by how they are highlighted and filled with warmth when sharing the space with vintage furniture and leather seats.

With an environment far from the standards, maintaining a level of sophistication and elegance is achieved through the perfect combination of the colour palette and with rich decorative Victorian panels on the ceilings.

In this perfectly imperfect place begins a new way of telling stories, a new form of creating memories.
