Mercato Popolare… A Trattoria away from Italy.

There are aromas and flavours that remain in our memory, a cuisine that comforts and makes us even happier for its indelible memories.

Stoves, pots, stews… “Della mamma” cuisine. Mothers and grandmothers are the tradition and roots of cooking made with love, patience, and affection.

In the trattories home-cooked food and a relaxed atmosphere predominate. They are usually family businesses where dishes are cooked in a traditional way, that is with care.

Mercato Popolare is the ambassador of Italian cuisine in Morocco. A small corner of Sardinia in Casablanca where the oldest traditions are respected, to honour a cuisine with authentic flavours, in a warm and familiar atmosphere.

Everything we expect from a trattoria from the ’60s and much more. Its menu invites us to savour the most beautiful regions of Italy in a ceremonious country where hospitality reigns.

It is in the popular markets where you can best feel the life of a city. Inside, the stalls of local producers offer a wide variety of fresh genre so necessary to experience the true home cooking.

Wicker baskets full of special breads and wooden boxes with gourmet products of Italian gastronomy, a close and friendly interior design such as the market itself.

Vichy picture prints like in the idyllic summer picnics on the Italian coast, and crockery where the most vibrant colour is what best represents the happiness of eating and loving.

Romantic, vintage, and so bucolic. Tuscan lands flood the dining room with their light and immerse us in that peace we find in their landscapes. The brilliant white of the furniture becomes soft and pleasant.

Cobalt blue is the ultimate expression of purity and brilliance, but in this design its intense power is weakened to reflect the time lived, and thus its petals fade without losing its essence.

Across the window, Provencal architecture, and a fantastic colonial-style covered porch. Mosaics, furniture, and tall plants. Beauty, naturalness, and a lot of life through a vegetation integrated into the decoration.
