Fauna Restaurant. The new interpretation of neighbourhood restaurants.

Light, colours, and historical details of the City of Barcelona. Fauna Restaurant. The warmth of a classic bourgeois house in Barcelona and the affection that feeds great friendships.

The interior design of awards and recognitions.

El Equipo Creativo, formed by the architects Oliver Franz Schmidt, Natali Canas del Pozo and Lucas Echeveste Lacy, is a studio specialized in the design of spaces for gastronomy, as well as brand and commercial spaces, with an extraordinary career.

Their specialization in projects for the gastronomic world has been recognized in many international design awards, such as the prestigious Restaurant and Bar Design Awards, The Great Indoors Awards, FX International Award, Best of the Year Award or AIT Interior Contract Award.

An idea, a theme, an experience.

Architects, designers, creatives… a team as colourful and diverse as their proposals, with an eminently conceptual working methodology. Their designs, like food, create sensations, stimuli, and experiences.

Fauna Restaurant. A creative dinner with friends.

On the second level of the Hotel Kimpton Vividora, on the lively streets of Barcelona’s Gothic Quarter we find Restaurant Fauna.

The patterns, textures, galleries, and lattices create a family atmosphere so welcoming that it introduces us to the atmosphere of a typically Barcelona house.

The challenge of designing a restaurant without contact with the street level became the leitmotif of the project. The floors are traditionally used for private activities, so the conditions of the traditional Barcelona house were analysed and introduced into the design. Going to Fauna is like going to dinner at a good friend’s house.

A house that delights for its ceramic heritage, its traditional decorative ceilings, its homely kitchens and pantries, and the hand-painted bluish murals depicting scenes from the old city.

The galleries, those super cosy spaces full of plants between the interior and the outside are present in the glazed dividing elements, which also allow to create private areas for events or meetings.

Tradition and creativity. Nolla.

One of the most beautiful things in a house is the floor, different in each room, the ceramics, typical of the city and the time, adorn a space that advocates to enjoy Mediterranean cuisine tasting modern versions of typical and exceptional homemade dishes.

Natural light floods the restaurant during the day, giving prominence to the beautiful Spanish tiles.

Small geometric tiles create a wonderful multi-coloured mosaic. FS Chester. Ceramic floor type “Nolla” inspired by the ceramics of the beautiful buildings of the Catalan modernism era, a sign of identity and a design with iconic references in the new interpretation of neighbourhood restaurants.
