Uskar, a design restaurant in the south of Madrid

The main objective of any catering establishment is to attract customers and, above all, retain them. One of the factors that increasingly influences the achievement of this purpose is the interior design and decoration of the premises.

Currently, restaurant design represents a challenge for the diversity of gastronomic concepts that exist in the market. A functional result is required, both for employees and customers, but also aesthetically unique. It is not about getting a modern decoration but getting one capable of conveying feelings and values.

And that is mainly what defines Uskar, a design restaurant for lovers of good cuisine, southern tradition and distinctive decorations. Inside, we find chairs from the Eley collection by Francisco Segarra, a model expressly chosen by Rita and José Miguel, owners and lovers of Uskar.

Design as a distinctive element.

This new gastronomic offer is in the Arganzuela district of Madrid. Despite being in the capital, Uskar takes its name from the Iberian name of the Granada town of Huéscar. A frontier city that was influenced by the Christian and Muslim traditions and the history of which, full of contrasts, left a huge mark on the gastronomic wealth of the land.

Southern culture becomes the protagonist of a space that perfectly sums up the spirit of the brand. The project, carried out by CIVISSA PROYECTOS Y OBRAS S.A., had the previous experience of the owners, who wanted to reflect their own origins.

For this, the interior designer of the same company, Nur Issa Lorenzo, focused on making design a distinctive element. Simple and honest, the restaurant Uskar highlights the contrasts between materials, textures and colours.

Wooden tables, rattan chairs, a decoration full of symbolism and a linear lighting that enhances the details. The furniture and accessories were chosen by the owners themselves and in a subtle way customize the entire design project.

During their visit to Francisco Segarra’s store in Madrid, Rita and José Miguel were won over by the charm of our Eley chairs. This model is the one chosen for Uskar and is the one that brings more dynamism to space.

Natural wood and synthetic rattan chairs, with a reliable finish and a combination of colours that positively punctuates the environment.

The interior design is the visible face of any restaurant and, in Uskar, is the clearest reflection of the people who give it life every day. Tradition, exotic winks and a cosmopolitan style.
