Eleven years recognizing the great design. Restaurant & Bar Design Awards 2019.

The presentations are already closed for the Restaurant & Bar Design Awards 2019. The awards are a world-renowned competition dedicated to the design of restaurant spaces.

They are seen as the Oscars of the design in the world of bar and restaurant. This prestigious award brings together the best studios in the world in this field and an extensive panel of renowned experts from the world of design, restaurant, and lifestyle.

More than 700 world-renowned designers will attend the event, as well as their clients responsible for the design of the most innovative and creative spaces in the sector.

The judges are the most influential global personalities of the hospitality, design, and lifestyle sectors and have previously included Tony Chambers (Editor-in-Chief at Wallpaper), Marcus Wareing and Thomas Heatherwick.

The Restaurant & Bar Design Awards receives coverage from specialized press such as AD Magazine, Elle Decor, Vogue Living, Dezeen and many more.

The prestigious international interior design awards convened annually seek the best restaurants, bars, cafes, even food trucks in the world, dividing the prizes by categories and a general prize.

Now in its eleventh edition and with tickets from more than 70 countries around the world, we participate with our work in the restaurant Playachica, in the category of the best restaurant in Europe.

Playachica is a restaurant located in the Costa del Azahar, in the municipality of Benicassim with which we wanted to return to the origin of the beach bars. The interior design, inspired by the surrounding environment, has been carried out from Castellón by our creative team of Francisco Segarra, and is nominated among the best restaurant interior design in Europe.

 

This recreation was part of the premise of exporting the success of other restaurants belonging to Grupo La Guindilla, creating a fresh and pleasant atmosphere that invites you to stay and enjoy the place and the selection of the group’s successful dishes.

The different materials and textures used in the project compensate, for their mixture and aesthetic richness with the transparency and sharpness of the entire extension of the building. In this way, a clear and spacious space is created, but cosy and friendly enough for the customer.

The balance between the main materials, such as natural wood, iron, and grey concrete blocks, is shared with more “coloristic” point inputs used in upholstery, carpets, vegetation, or at the bottoms of the main counter bar. Providing the necessary freshness and intimacy.

The artificial lighting that has been used, with technical spotlights and decorative lamps in vintage aesthetics at the tables, reinforces the cosy image of the place and visually rekindle the most interesting points of the project.

The sophisticated and bold aesthetic of the Playachica restaurant has seduced the jury of the Restaurant & Bar Design Awards. But if you want to know the award-winning Best Restaurant in Europe – as far as interior design is concerned – you’ll have to wait until October 5, for the 2019 awards ceremony, which will take place at its London’s King’s Cross headquarters in London.
