The original architecture of the building is part of the charm of Vermutería Caporal

In the heart of the Gothic quarter of Barcelona, an old mythical poultry is transformed into the Caporal Vermutería thanks to the good work of Piedra Papel Tijera.

Helena Puig at the head of a team of professionals, leads the interior design studio, experts in projects of restaurants, bars, hotels, discos, offices, homes, terraces and any personalized design.

The refurbishment project of the premises, located in Escudellers Street 7, old poultry known in the neighbourhood and closed a few years ago, which presented a destroyed and abandoned image; born of 2 young partners and friends with the concern of setting up a vermutería and bar of fresh and alternative drinks.

Scratching walls in search of the original architecture of the building, keeping in mind the aesthetics of the Gothic quarter achieves a charming place, with personality.

A tasca was the first concept to develop the project.

Pure materials, old and alive, made them work in a way in which their public were the real protagonists; they and their experiences within the premises.

The window at the entrance generates a game between the inside and outside; generating neighbourhood synergies.

Its slogan engraved on the carpet “Keep the secret” invites us to this small quality bar where we get lost for hours.

The main bar top made of marble and concrete structure crosses the entire premises, being the ideal space where you can have vermouth or a few drinks at night.

The solid wood coverings with mirrors on them hide games of looks in all its corners.

All the luminaires have been designed and manufactured by the interior design studio itself. Solid wood sconces, wicker lamps of different shapes, dyed and designed to measure; handmade to give volume to the double height.

To achieve the charm of old tasca, all the furniture is solved with leather stools such as the Rive high stools with backrest of the firm Francisco Segarra. Stools of French design with tubular structure and aged brown leather sewn in sling.
