Naval aesthetics in the Barco restaurant interior design project.

The interior design studio Amplé, located in Barcelona, consisting of three designers and architects, specialized in interior design, furniture design and branding, which carries out interior design projects in Europe and Russia; have been the creators of the interior design project in Barco restaurant. Creative grill and wines. The place opened in December last year, on the Black Sea coast, in Novorossiysk and features furniture from the firm Francisco Segarra.

The urban landscape around it; the promenade, the port, its ships, docks, cranes, and other industrial elements of the port infrastructure, served as inspiration for the creation of the project.

120 square meters of warm and welcoming atmosphere, suggested by Barcelona of modernist spirit and its naval aesthetics. Natural materials such as wood, leather, iron, concrete, metal, and a composition of industrial textures that is complemented by mirror glosses and classic decoration.

Done in record time, just four months, the greatest work was to find the simplest and fastest means to achieve conceptual design.

Dadra and Francisco Segarra, companies specializing in industrial furniture, were selected for the acquisition of furniture. The studio, which on previous occasions had already had our hospitality furniture firm in its projects, understood that the aesthetics of our product combined with the concept of the restaurant.

Mews chairs reinforce the vintage character of the space and the colour palette in brown and black, achieving an ideal environment for moments of relaxation and talks.

Metal panels, from the Francisco Segarra catalogue of wall coverings, with designs inspired by the old, pressed tin panels from the Victorian-era ceilings; they form a bar top together with the Mews tall bar stools in leather and skate foot design in brown tone.

A lot of decorative elements, whisper stories of long journeys, in a simple and balanced interior design.

Other elements, such as the movable lighting system, created by rails placed on the ceiling or the sliding panels and tables located on the front wall in front of the mirror, which open on weekends expanding the space; were specially designed for this project.

The area by the fireplace, or “captain’s cabin”, has a large wardrobe that treasures trophies. Porcelain dishes, metal trays, sea maps, old glass bottles, tastings and equipment purchased at the markets of Lisbon, Barcelona, and some small towns of Catalonia.

On the wall, the clocks mark the time of the port cities of Novorossiysk, Barcelona and Buenos Aires. All under the warm light of Islay Francisco Segarra’s lamps.
