Bar designs with history. Ernesto La Oficina.

It is the uniqueness of the project, the variety of possibilities it offers, or the emotional effect caused by its location… Francisco Segarra ventures into a new 100%FS project that gathers the vocation and skill of a team of interior designers capable of capturing through design a essential part of every project, its history.

Ernesto La Oficina is a tavern bar fruit of an illusion that was born in 1972 and that since then has not stopped beating. A family business that has enriched the gastronomy of Castellón, and that adds a new success by relying on the unique and unmistakable aesthetics of Francisco Segarra for the creation of its interior design.

New spaces to continue telling our story.

Ernesto La Oficina has history, a narrative that began in a tavern in the centre of Castellón and that has been written among tapas and coffees, in each service and with the fidelity of its customers. After almost half a century as a meeting point for locals and tourists, this bar, which pioneered the popular Spanish “tardeo”, is a benchmark in the heart of the city.

With the goal in mind of keeping that spirit alive and extending their passion for gastronomy, the saga continues its journey through the world of restaurants and adds another success in the municipality of Benicàssim.

A place between the sea and the mountains, a captivating environment, and a venue with open spaces to enjoy the best gastronomic experiences in a unique atmosphere.

The architecture studio Medrano+Sáez Arquitectos carried out the refurb of a house in the nerve centre of this municipality to turn it into a large restaurant built over two floors.

Its unbeatable L-shaped arrangement opening to the southwest gave the possibility of creating open spaces for the enjoyment of those who wish to take advantage of the sun’s rays throughout the year.

They relied on the creativity and talent of Francisco Segarra’s team of interior designers for the realization of a bar design at the height of such a magnificent project.

In those first illusions that have become long stories full of emotion, in those new locations that offer a wealth of possibilities, in those projects where our artistic capacity can enrich itself… that’s where wonderful designs are born.

Tradition and elegance. The perfect balance.

As a way of merging the indoors with the outdoors, the ground floor is directly connected to the terrace by large windows. The day area perfectly describes the traditional bar aesthetic that was to be achieved, but with a touch of sophistication that is manifested through furniture of suggestive forms and noble materials.

An imposing bar counter reigns over the space and is the perfect exhibition point for gourmet products.

The dining area has the maximum elegance of the premises. The materials show off all their charms and create a certain warmth that accompanies us throughout the room.

A traditional staircase invites us to discover the continuation of this admirable design. In our path, each step becomes a decorative element thanks to the pieces of stoneware designed by Francisco Segarra. FS Chester brings that traditional character that has been maintained throughout the execution of the project.

Decorative elements that create identity.

We enter a more vegetal, natural, fresh, and Mediterranean aesthetic. The wood makes their tones lighter, and the materials adjust to a lighter environment.

A small auxiliary bar counter links the interior with the terrace. Tables, chairs, and stools are ready for long leisure evenings.

The focal point of this floor is on the colours, textures, nuances, and crackling effects of a ceramic wall tiling that perfectly describes the idea of fusion between tradition and modernity. FS Raku is a ceramic tile that creates identity and becomes an expressive element.

On the terrace the natural fibres of the rattan chairs invite us to take a seat in an outdoor space where time seems to stop so that we can enjoy it with the five senses…

Ernesto la Oficina is a tribute to all those bars that continue to enrich a part of Spanish gastronomy that makes us different. Francisco Segarra’s creativity and the unmistakable aesthetics of his furniture line culminate this bar design project, a space that symbolizes the continuation of a story full of emotions.
