La pelu de Sixto “Tijeritas”. Vintage touches and airs of modernity in a traditional barbershop.

Our projects section today ventures once again into the world of hairdressers and barbershops to see how interior design and decoration have the ability to create special atmospheres that make each place a unique space.

La pelu de Sixto “Tijeritas” is a men’s hairdresser and barbershop with more than 15 years of experience in this sector. Time in which it has become a space where customers not only feel comfortable and satisfied but also identified with what surrounds them.

Design is the key to achieving that added value that Yáñez Diseño y Construcción has achieved in this beauty centre, where the prestigious collection of ceramic floor tiles by Francisco Segarra shows its ability to shine in the most unsuspected places.

A barbershop that exudes personality.

We think we know it, but Galicia always surprises us… A mosaic of coastal and mountain landscapes, where the cities exude personality, and ancestral traditions are still alive… A magic that delights us and appears in every corner of this land.

Between the Atlantic Ocean and the Estuary of Ferrol we find Narón, a small town in the north of La Coruña located in the region of Ferrol. A place where the soul of vintage aesthetics takes shape in this barbershop in traditional essence.

With an interior design that defines the image of the business and that brings out the creativity and innovation that was sought, the design project was completed with ceramic pavement belonging to the firm Francisco Segarra, adding that differentiating point that enhances the exclusivity of the premises.

A barbershop design that seeks singularization.

Entering an authentic barbershop is entering a cosy atmosphere, where the roughest nuances bring casual beauty.

The main purpose was to preserve that traditional expression of art that has barely evolved over the years.

Behind a façade where the predominant black seeks a modern and urban appearance, we discover a men hairdresser carefully designed so that a haircut or a beard outline may become a unique experience.

The place, perfectly organized, has differentiated areas that provide the functionality required in this type of premises.

The materials coexist creating a clean design where metal and dark tones achieve that industrial and masculine air, while wood, leather and ceramics balance it providing warmth and affability.

The floor has an important role in this barbershop, giving prominence to the area where styling professionals show the art through their hands. Yáñez’s team opted for the FS FAENZA-N collection, a stoneware pavement, inspired by vintage ceramics, which simulates manual painting with motifs from ancient Valencian and Medieval ceramics.

Lighting, furniture, seating… everything in the place is perfectly located to achieve a barbershop design that seeks singularization, and where the vintage aesthetic of Francisco Segarra enhances its exclusivity.
