Experience another culture, travel back in time. HONG KONG 70’s.

Travelling around the world you get the opportunity of finding unique settings and living great experiences. Let’s pack up! We are travelling to Hong Kong in the 70’s, and we are ready to enjoy its streets and its Cantonese Chinese cuisine.

The most ancient traditions of a millennial country, the essence of its streets full of busy people, posters and neon lights… In Madrid it is possible to feel as if you were entering an unknown world. HONG KONG 70’s. A restaurant where, unlike all the others, the dishes haven’t been adapted to occidental taste and they offer an authentic Hong Kong traditional cuisine.

Spaces full of stories and legends.

The experience gets better for the travellers if they have native guides. This is how we can get a taste of the tradition and culture of the Asian gastronomic capital, which has an interesting culinary diversity. Gloria and Alba, the soul of Dorotea Estudio, take us to the heart of the bustling and popular dai pai dongs.

As you enter through the metal enclosure, you really feel as if you were in Temple Street eating Dim Sum. Red stools, tables made with Mahiong game pieces, canopies and newspapers on the wall. The decoration is a recall to Oriental culture.

You will feel bathed in the environment of its streets when going up to the second floor, where the atmosphere becomes darker and intimate. Vaulted ceilings, exposed bricks, neon lights and a round private space furnished with a velvet bench seat. A golden cage where you can enjoy a delicious Hong Kong Style roast duck.

Skyscrapers and millennial temples. A space full of contrasts that when merged bring the essence of our destination. The most authentic Hong Kong. A place where Francisco Segarra’s furniture contributes to create plurality within the whole project.

A project itself is a journey.

Eating, as travelling, is a pleasure and better if we are with the ideal companion.

The complicity of a unique experience… is travelling with friends. Cooperation, participation, enjoyment. Dorotea Estudio, a young team that understands every interior design project as a new challenge, where the main goal is achieve a space with personality and capable of conveying a message and thrilling.

Dorotea Estudio and Francisco Segarra share the chance of working on what we really love, and it was this what made us start with this wonderful trip to another culture and another time. HONG KONG during the 70’s.

This work takes us to the essence and the flavours of the antique British colony, and when it is time to travel back, our passion for vintage furniture makes sense.
