4 lessons we can take away from Maestros de la Costura.

Maestros de la Costura finished its third edition with luxury guests, gala dresses, and its own fashion catwalk to show off the designs of the finalists. On Monday night we could enjoy this production of RTVE in collaboration with Shine Iberia.

As in each program, the apprentices paid tribute to the great masters of the sector, this time to the iconic Karl Lagerfeld. Tests worthy of a final that they lived with a lot of tension, but above all with passion. Finally, Joshua won in a final followed by more than 2.3 million people.

Rivalry is not at odds with companionship.

Competition has not been lacking in this edition, the participants were clear about their goal and struggled for their goal to offer the best version of themselves and outperform their opponents. In turn, we have seen that the displays of companionship have also marked each program and although some frictions have emerged, they have been able to deal with the problems, show their humble side, work as a team, and respect their differences.

Social awareness and raw materials.

If there’s one thing they’ve put the spotlight on especially this season, it’s been not to waste materials. Resources are limited and cost-free both economically and environmentally. So much so that even in one of the tests they subtracted time from the participants if they wasted too much money on material from the haberdashery, one of the funniest shows of the season.

Transformation, recycling, and reuse.

Another unforgettable moment of the edition happened when Borja forgot the fabric when leaving the haberdashery, which forced the apprentice to use the fabric of his own clothes to take the test forward (leaving it in leathers while making his making). Creativity has no limits and objects do not have a single use.

Taking advantage of every resource at our disposal and offering new uses and a second life to the objects around us, is a great example of awareness, originality, and innovation.

Success is subjective.

The greatest achievement is to work on what we are passionate about, because only in this way we will look for a way to improve day by day without stopping. For participants, the opportunity to be part of Maestros de la Costura has already been a victory. When you can dedicate yourself to a profession for which you feel true love and gain recognition for it, means a great triumph.

These weeks we have been able to enjoy with the apprentices in every test they played in the struggle to pursue their dreams. In their infinite generosity, judges and apprentices have also taught us these 4 important lessons we have learned.

For us it is a success to be part of a production like this through what we are passionate about: decoration, interior design, and vintage furniture. We are infinitely grateful to have the opportunity to cede our furniture to furnish and decorate part of the scenarios that have accompanied the contestants on their tour.
