The new brand by Francisco Segarra has already opened three shops. “Ofelia Home & Décor”, “Ofelia Teas & Flowers” and “Ofelia Concept Store”. An increasingly unexpected, surprising and memorable universe, because each of its homes provides taste and sensitivity.

First there were the vintage crockeries and the water coloured plates with a mineral finishing effect, the baskets by Jacinto del Agua and the wonderful wabi-sabi ceramic jars. Our home at Barquillo, 33 meant a change in the way we understand retail interior design.

After that there were flowers, teas and candles, with their fragrance flooding everywhere and everything changes. Hortaleza, 102 a shop that delicacy and sensitivity in its decoration.

Ofelia is already a whole universe that never stops growing, with two shops in the capital it needed another home closer to its origins, because at home and with ours everything knows best.

In the heart of Castellón, at O’Donnell Street 1 Ofelia gathers us around the table to enjoy a coffee and a delicious homemade cake, and to show us that sometimes the unlimited and inexhaustible imagination can break down barriers.

The long and narrow venue was the place for one of the most mythical bars in the city. The “Chiki”, sixty-five years of history that had to be completely torn down to design a new distribution, and to show that if you have a powerful and open mind, something new and extraordinary can emerge from the ruins.

Creativity is the ability to produce original solutions to any problem. The bar is the central axis that visually narrows, it also divides the shopping and leisure areas.

When designing a charming coffee shop, where the shopping area coexists with the leisure space, we can find some specific difficulties. The product exhibition area required technical and specific lighting at the shelf level, while the cafeteria area has less technical and more subtle and intimate lighting thanks to the backlit ones.

The entrance located at the rear side of the building, the garden patio behind the arch, the kitchen area and the rooms of the house. Ofelia Concept Store brings us all the charm of an old house where the essence of Francisco Segarra is brought to a softer style, more homely, more Ofelia.

Floors and walls are the heart of the concept. An austere entrance, cement floor and marks of the tiles stripped from the walls. Access to the patio has been made under a partition that preserves the marks of the demolition and clay tiles. Beautiful ceramic floors and the remains of the old partitions are the basis in the kitchen. Inside we find bare brick walls and a comfortable wooden floor.
