The sea from another perspective… Dock.

Seeing things from a different perspective can open us up to new horizons, enrich our creativity, and get out of common themes. And as we know there is always another place where we can observe the world, today we enter a new interior design that escapes from the most standardized ideas of what the sea represents. A new way to access it from another point of view…

As Emily Dickinson said, ” to multiply the harbors does not reduce the sea” and although she wanted to express much more than words can explain, her appreciation suits us perfectly. Bringing the maritime character of the city and its people closer through an interior design oxygenated with the industrial aesthetics of Francisco Segarra was the starting point of a “dock” that welcomes us in its harbour to those who want to dock our ship.

One idea, two projects that meet expectations.

Bathed by the Baltic Sea, Klaipeda is Lithuania’s excellent coastal showcase and the place where it began. DOCK, the name chosen for a hamburger restaurant that represents the shipyard of a seaport in a city proud of its origins.

A space where the interaction of materials of different nature, as well as the elegance with which they are incorporated into an industrial interior design were encouraging reasons to take the port essence to the other part of the country.

And as any successful project that bets on its expansion, DOCK crossed Lithuania to open its second “dock” in the capital Vilnius, a city that stands out both with its Baroque old town and its avant-garde neighbourhoods.

Strolling through its streets full of history or those with the aroma of saltpetre, it is easy to be conquered by a place that joins us with the sea even in the distance or that brings us a touch of modernity from the roots by the traditions of its city.

The elegance of an industrial interior design.

The walls, partially plastered and intentionally glazed, merge with the concreted floor, creating a space similar to seaport storage facilities.

The combination between the modern, the industrial, and the heritage of an exciting past creates a deeply symbolic and welcoming atmosphere where you can enjoy its tasty burgers perfectly balanced with seasonal ingredients or craft beers thrown by a huge pipe dispenser.

An imposing bar top on a metal base as the classic blue maritime container. The deliberately aged and stained surface makes us imagine the racking of goods. Behind it the kitchen, with a metallic glazed partition that allows diners to see the whole process of making their dishes.

Designs that enrich our creativity.

Wood, metal, and leather come together in this restaurant design as a key point for an elegance that bursts strongly into a space with industrial foundations.

In order not to detach from the sobriety of the logistics areas, it was chosen to enliven and vivify the space with a combination of chairs and stools in different models but maintaining the colour range and sometimes the texture.

Both projects are completed with spectacular lighting made thoroughly. Pendant lights and scissor lamps that not only highlight volumes and create contrasts but always following the industrial style line on which a first approach was based.

Two cities, two “docks” that bring us closer to the sea from another perspective, new horizons that do not reduce our creativity, but multiply it… And it is these findings that make Francisco Segarra team design new collections and inspire projects as amazing as DOCK.
