In the pine forest of Antequera, known as the large green lung of the city of Valladolid, the smell of burnt wood guides us to El Cortijo… Today, we enliven the embers of a mythical grill restaurant. Among tradition and modernity, Francisco Segarra’s furniture responds to the desire of transferring to the decoration that rustic essence of the area.

From a traditional farmhouse to a pioneer steakhouse full of charm thanks to a remarkable reform.

There are smells that well deserve a deep and prolonged exhalation. The balsamic of the lavender, those touches of earth that arise again after the rain or the pleasant aroma of wood crackling in the fire.

In the Cortijo you feel the most authentic nature. Since 1942 things have been as they always have been. Cuisine and firewood. A refuge with history that breathes peace and quiet.

New management, new image. Without losing roots, space greens. Rustic… harmonious.

After a magical walk through the forest it is time to make a stop to satisfy the appetite and restock on energy. Nothing is left on the plate today!

The biodiversity that reigns outside crosses the threshold with us… Life makes its way. The rainwater breaks into the walls, the all-terrain plants await the rematch, the native wood imposes its authenticity… The force of nature takes over the project.

Imperfections are imposed on the pristine. Here, the walls tell stories. Among aesthetic imperfections and paints, a natural and attractive habitat opens.

Plants… A vegetable wall, a gust of fresh air.

Wood and more wood. Floors, tables, chairs… nothing like wood to feel in the middle of nature!

In a return to the natural, the raw material is imposed without artifice. Broker and Mecano. Forging stools and slat chairs. A long custom bench and a traditional sofa. Next to the bar, a little piece of sky full of stars. FS STAR. And… lots of light escaping from the cages that were left open.

The base of the farmhouse is a large patio, around which you can breathe tranquillity and harmony with nature.

With great experience in the catering and restaurant sector in Valladolid running venues such as Déjate besar, Olivando, Sotabanco or La Puñeta; El Cortijo is a big bet, and one of its most ambitious projects.

Three-quarters of a century of history and a new life. A current, warm, and welcoming grill restaurant thanks to the brilliant advice of the Blak Interiorismo studio and the aesthetics of a firm that evokes the past and bets on the future. Francisco Segarra.
