The art of decorating and merging. Gastronomic restaurant La Picanteria de l’Escribà.

Mixing flavours and aromas to bring the best of the five continents to our dishes. Gastronomy knows no borders and makes us travel further and further. So far and at the same time so close… In Barcelona, we invite you to discover Nikkei fusion cuisine in a very exotic restaurant with the special touch of Francisco Segarra.

La Picantería de l’Escribà. Creativity on the plate and in the design…

The restaurant’s project finds its roots in the city of Arequipa in Peru, where the spicy shops are part of the country’s gastronomic culture. A spicy food house full of flavour, tradition and with a lot of seasoning.

A very original and exotic idea that is increased by a sublime culinary encounter. Latin and Japanese flavours for a trendy cuisine known as Nikkei. A fusion that gives rise to an extensive menu of very creative dishes and exotic cocktails to travel from one country to another.

Creativity on the plate and in the design… To develop the concept perfectly, the restaurant’s design pampers the mix of cultures in detail. A work that, in the hands of GE Interior Design Studio, brings colour and joy to all corners of the premises.

Exotic decoration and vintage furniture in a very cosy space.

We find this atypical place in the heart of the Poblenou neighbourhood of the city of Barcelona. From the facade, you can see the first touches of colour that immediately place us in the environment.

Surrounded by the exposed white brick of its walls, the place is divided into several corners with the intention of recovering once again the spirit of the Arequipeñas spicy. Under a spectacular cluster of flowers, the bar top becomes the main axis of the place.

Marble, wood, leather… Tables and seats also coexist with each other showing off their most natural features. The play of materials enhances all the charm of a very warm and bright restaurant.

Around the tables or lined up in front of the bar top, Francisco Segarra’s chairs and stools upholstered in leatherette show off their purest vintage retro style and bring all the required character.

The interior design work is completed with the design of the bathrooms. FS Marrakech. An oriental-looking tile with very soft colours and shapes that dresses the walls to give a last rustic touch to the space.

The art of merging styles or how to design a Nikkei restaurant
