Designing a charming rural hotel. Casa Manuel de La Capilla.

A place to experience it, a space to live in, an accommodation with soul… This is how we could define Casa Manuel de La Capilla. It is in the small village of Arbuniel, in the province of Jaén, that we find this old house built in the 30s, which today has been turned into a charming rural accommodation.

A space in a wonderful environment with an outstanding design where the vintage aesthetic by Francisco Segarra finds its place perfectly.

Designing a rural house with soul.

In the 1930s, Manuel de la Capilla and his wife Antonia lived in an old house in the centre of Arbuniel. Noble and generous, they used to give accommodation in exchange for almost nothing, often in exchange for friendship and affection.

La Casa reopens its doors today to become a unique tourist accommodation and to pay tribute to Manuel and Antonia, the owners’ grandparents. “It’s a project of life, of heritage to our children,” Manuel Almazán tells us.

To carry out this wonderful purpose, Manuel, grandson of the former owner of La Casa, has counted on the interior designer Jesús Torres and the studio Jesús Torres Chicote – interior design to turn the space into a rural accommodation.

Designing a unique tourist accommodation.

“The first visit to La Casa was an inspiration, I knew from the first moment that something different could be created. At the bottom of the courtyard, there was an old warehouse where different farming utensils were kept, today it is the Asador, whose atmosphere catches you and reminds you of dreams of yesteryear. Masonry artisans, carpenters and blacksmiths were required to work on La Casa without touching its soul. It was a challenge to find the original materials or as closely as possible. We didn’t change the walls, the floors or the holes in the windows.” Jesús Torres Chicote.

A clean and outstanding interior design work. Casa Manuel de la Capilla has 7 double bedrooms with private bathroom, a TV room, a reading room and a kitchen-dining room. A wonderful patio with swimming pool is the junction point with the Asador Torre de Gallarín restaurant.

When the vintage aesthetic is all over the space an outstanding project is the result.

The vintage aesthetic has been the perfect ally in this design and decoration work, which had as main goal to adapt La Casa to the current times without losing its centuries-old essence.

The tiles from FS by Peronda collection show off their most authentic features in the different rooms of the space. Floor and wall tiling with great creative power and a nostalgic touch that enhance the whole character of the space.

Francisco Segarra’s furniture brings out its purest side to fill La Casa with warmth and kindness. Armchairs, poufs, tables, mirrors, clothes racks… A lot of pieces, all with their own soul.

El Asador Torre de Gallarín gives us the possibility to try the best meats in a rustic atmosphere, in keeping with the Sierra Mágina de Jaén. Sturdy wooden tables, brown leather chairs and tiles that evoke the old hydraulic decorations.

Casa Manuel de la Capilla is a tourist accommodation with a very special charm. It’s history, it’s homage, it’s feeling… It knows how to awaken the emotions of its guests and play subtly with love and nostalgia.

Francisco Segarra is a specialist in bringing the old to life and using the passage of time as a decorative way. Like us, Jesús Torres Chicote has rediscovered a place.
